Linde Hayride

Off to Madison for the annual Linde family hayride. We arrived late Thursday night so Friday morning Mia was still a little tuckered out... just needed a little stretch to get the kinks out after the drive.
But after a bit she settled right on in.
She got so comfortable she started to drool... and man can that girl do a number on her shirt with just a little saliva and gumption :)

After recovering from the ride a little, we jumped back in the car and took a little tour around Western Minnesota. We drove to a whole bunch of towns to run errands and even do a little shopping. Our road trip ended with a little trip to Madison to visit Great Grandparents Clif and Lois. Grandpa Clif had a lot to tell his youngest great grandchild!

After arriving back at the farm, the rest of the family arrived and was ready and rarin' ... so it was time to burn off some of that energy and show Mia the farm. It was around 90 degrees with 85% humidity and no breeze ... might as well go for a 3 mile walk :)

The terrain is just a little flat... Walkin' is one of the best ways to play catch up!
After such a warm hike, a nap was in order. I think we all got a little nap in, but Amelia was the only one that got a candid shot while doing so.
Turns out Tahoe was just a little tired from the whole ordeal as well.

Greg and his parents were able to make it up on Friday night. However, after such an active day... Dan, Mia, and I were all asleep before they even made it into the city limits. It was a great night to get sleep because we had to save up our energy for the hayride/fam reunion the next day. Up bright and early, and after a big breakfast, Sarah and Greg put together a scavenger hunt for the kids, just before Maxine and Ron (Greg's parents) came ut for a brunch. Everything was ready for a wonderful day of lounging and chatting with all the family.

Dan just surveying to make sure everything is ready to go.

Mia was a hit and was passed around quite a bit. It was warm out but she didn't mind as long as she got to be part of the action (she hates missing out on anything... just like her parents!)

She definately likes to know what is going on

After sitting around in the shade for most of the afternoon, it was time for the hayride to get out and see all the sights on the farm. The lawnchairs were placed back to back on the hayrack, and everyone boarded for the ride :)

It is always fun to see what is going on around the farm. This year we got to see flowers, fields, butterflies, birds, and even some deer. After the hayride we had a bonfire with some fireworks. Mia was not so sure about the noise, but after moving back a little she seemed fascinated by the bright, exploding lights. What a fun end to a fun day. Up bright and early the next day, we had to leave in order to make it back for Dan's Fantasy Football Drafts. What a great weekend!
