Mia - Week 7

Week 7 was another beautiful weather week. Luckily the Sprengelers were home quite a bit so we got to spend a lot of time with them. We loved all the time with them doing whatever. They are great friends who are fun doing anything from hanging out in the yard for a few hours, going on walks, taking a trip to the zoo, or having burgers at night.

So nice that Michael couldn't even stay indoors for laundry.
Tahoe and Simon loved it too.

Mia took a cat-nap in the shade.

Michael took a break to play with Luke...who was not napping ;)

Mia spent so much time outside she was completely tuckered out at night. Unfortunately, Dan took this moment to put her in this pose... and then giggle for about half an hour. He's such a goofball.
To the Zoo with the Sprengelers

It was so hot that Mia didn't wear any pants at the zoo. This was cute and ok because she is just a little gal.

The Sprengelers were quite impressive getting all 3 kids on 1 stroller...

I just had Mia and she was super cute!

A quick picnic lunch before leaving the zoo

Gardening with the babies...
they were ultra-helpful as the took long naps outside :)

Mia - Week 6

Week 6 and our child is always so alert and curious about the world around her we are beginning to wonder if she is ever going to sleep during the day. She is really good at sleeping at night and has started getting 5 hours of sleep in a row. However, without sleeping during the day her parents are starting to go a little nuts... We did learn a little trick, if we take her for a walk she will often doze for a little nap. The weather was beautiful which made it really easy to take long walks (especially with Sarah and Luke). This week we all got just a little more sleep and it was AMAZING!

Packed up for a day at the Sprengelers - even a short 2 block walk will put her to sleep
Even after 5 hours of sleep in a row I am glad that she will sleep just a little longer with me.

Mia - Week 5

After lots of visitors and guests it was kinda nice to have a weekend to ourselves this week. Ironically it started with 2 inches of snow...but it melted in a day. It shouldn't snow in May but it makes for a good excuse to stay in and nap. Sunday was my first mother's day as a mom. We had a fabulous day. I took a 2 hour nap, we went on a hike as a family, did some tummy time, and we made it through 20 minutes of church before Mia melted down and we realized we didn't have a bottle (we will never forget a bottle again!!). It was a great week!

Mia - Week 4

This week was filled with so many exciting things. Betsy came to stay with us for a week and help take care of Mia. It was an especially busy week. Betsy made me a birthday dinner of just what I wanted: tator tots, pizza rolls, and peanut butter/chocolate malts... the dinner of champions. Then we went to St. Peter for the weekend to see the Strey Grandparents and go to a fun shower put on by my aunts. The whole weekend was action packed and a great time. It was great to have Betsy here for the whole week for so many reasons: she is overall just awesome, she helped so much to take care of Mia and Dan, and we were able to complete a lot of Farmville CO-OPs.
Tummy Time for ALL!!
Dan attempts it...
Betsy gave it a shot...
I even tried but Mia was just ashamed at our efforts.

Mia - Week 3

Mia loves her play mat - but isn't sure what to do with it

Tahoe is not sure exactly what to think about this whole deal.

Bundled up and time for a walk

Classic Mia

Week 3 is full of lots of playing and hangin out with mom. What a fabulous time. Mia has grown out of her newborn clothes and is only into her 0-3 month clothes. At her first doctors appointment she weighed 8lbs 8ounces and was in the 75% for height. She is a tall little lady.

Now THAT's relaxed!

Dad's the best pillow EVER!

Week 2 (like week 1) was filled with lots of visitors. Mia is always very alert and doesn't really like to sleep as much as babies as supposed to. She is just so excited to see everything and take it all in. She fights falling asleep but eventually sleep always wins :)

Finally home and all tuckered out

It is my last Friday before the end of my 10 week maternity leave. It has been a very fun and exhausting experience. Since I just started this blog I will quickly summarize the past 10 weeks and put some pictures up. I am still not proficient at this whole blogging thing so each week will get it's own post. Here are pics from week 1.

My First Blog Ever

We love all our friends and family but we are very spread out. I have decided that since everyone cannot move to Duluth that we will just have to bring it to everyone. I am going to attempt to keep up with all the goings on and hullabaloo that happen in our lives. A quick intro to our family (though anyone who actually looks at this will already know this info). The stars of our show consist of myself - Jessi, my wonderful husband - Dan, our 2 month old baby girl - Amelia Anne (we call her Mia), and our lovable Bassett/Lab mix dog - Tahoe Beauford. We hope to have many guest appearances to blog about. Enjoy!
