Dragon Boat Festival 2010

Up early and hanging out with friends at the dragon boat festival!

Lots of pics got taken with the help of Niko... what a photographer.

Our favorite team names... "Who's your Dragon" and "Lift what's Dragon".

Ang and Kat were all about the fun... So were the Gentilinis...

The Hesslers are always fabulous and great babysitters... Mia especially loves falling asleep on Eric's lap.

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles...

As a little treat, we bought some bubbles for Mia...

and she really liked them, but it turns out someone else liked them even more...
Due to technical difficulties you will have to stay tuned to the next blog to find out who :)

Mia and Eric just hanging out after all the commotion. Maybe just a little too much excitement for Eric cuz he was pooped ;)

Random cute pics of Mia from August

Technically this is a cute pic of both Mia and Sylvia... 2 for 1 :)

Linde Hayride

Off to Madison for the annual Linde family hayride. We arrived late Thursday night so Friday morning Mia was still a little tuckered out... just needed a little stretch to get the kinks out after the drive.
But after a bit she settled right on in.
She got so comfortable she started to drool... and man can that girl do a number on her shirt with just a little saliva and gumption :)

After recovering from the ride a little, we jumped back in the car and took a little tour around Western Minnesota. We drove to a whole bunch of towns to run errands and even do a little shopping. Our road trip ended with a little trip to Madison to visit Great Grandparents Clif and Lois. Grandpa Clif had a lot to tell his youngest great grandchild!

After arriving back at the farm, the rest of the family arrived and was ready and rarin' ... so it was time to burn off some of that energy and show Mia the farm. It was around 90 degrees with 85% humidity and no breeze ... might as well go for a 3 mile walk :)

The terrain is just a little flat... Walkin' is one of the best ways to play catch up!
After such a warm hike, a nap was in order. I think we all got a little nap in, but Amelia was the only one that got a candid shot while doing so.
Turns out Tahoe was just a little tired from the whole ordeal as well.

Greg and his parents were able to make it up on Friday night. However, after such an active day... Dan, Mia, and I were all asleep before they even made it into the city limits. It was a great night to get sleep because we had to save up our energy for the hayride/fam reunion the next day. Up bright and early, and after a big breakfast, Sarah and Greg put together a scavenger hunt for the kids, just before Maxine and Ron (Greg's parents) came ut for a brunch. Everything was ready for a wonderful day of lounging and chatting with all the family.

Dan just surveying to make sure everything is ready to go.

Mia was a hit and was passed around quite a bit. It was warm out but she didn't mind as long as she got to be part of the action (she hates missing out on anything... just like her parents!)

She definately likes to know what is going on

After sitting around in the shade for most of the afternoon, it was time for the hayride to get out and see all the sights on the farm. The lawnchairs were placed back to back on the hayrack, and everyone boarded for the ride :)

It is always fun to see what is going on around the farm. This year we got to see flowers, fields, butterflies, birds, and even some deer. After the hayride we had a bonfire with some fireworks. Mia was not so sure about the noise, but after moving back a little she seemed fascinated by the bright, exploding lights. What a fun end to a fun day. Up bright and early the next day, we had to leave in order to make it back for Dan's Fantasy Football Drafts. What a great weekend!

All tired out...

She ROLLED OVER!!!! Apparently she was sick and tired of tummy time... and Dan and I were both there to see it. Our little gal is getting so big and learning so much so fast! Now she is way more mobile... EEK! She isn't going to just stay where we put her anymore... not that she did before since she learned to scoot. No big pics or anything to commemorate it, just wanted it documented officially. YIPPIE FOR MIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday, August 1, 2010

It has been a ridiculously hot, humid July. Not only that but we have kept really busy getting our house ready. It is officially on the market. I love our little house, but it is really little. Time to find a larger place for our family and visitors. It has been quite busy, but we are excited! Mia has also been keeping busy. She loves to smile, laugh, and flail her limbs around. She also is getting very good at rolling from side-to-side and seems really close to rolling over, but doesn't really seem interested in doing so. Instead, she'll just scoot around in a circle, turning a good 720 degrees before getting tuckered. We have to be careful where we put her as she doesn't like to stay in that one place for long. So much for a non-mobile baby. We also gave in and got a Bumbo... and she loves it.
Chillin' on the big chair

Mia can fall asleep just about anywhere (however I promise that she does NOT sleep as much as this blog is making it look).
This is more characteristic of her sleeping patterns... awake and waiting for the rest of us to wake up and get the party started!

The last weekend in July was the St. Louis County Fair and Dan had to work at it. My parents came up to keep me company and provide a hotel pool for us to swim. Mia loves the water but is not exactly sure what to do... yet.
Sitting in the Bumbo allowed Mia to hold her toys and look around... Tahoe wasn't about to be outdone, so he was showing off his toy as well.

My favorite pic of the whole weekend (7/31/10). Mia will be 4 months old in 5 days, she is getting so big!

Walking on the Lake walk is one of Mia's favorite things...

and Tahoe doesn't mind it either!

Cooling off in the water and chasing a stick is pretty much Tahoe's fav thing of all time.
Turned out to be a great weekend! Wish that we could just keep it going but have to get back to work Monday. What can you do? At least I am officially caught up on this blog! Now we just have to take more pics!
